Mjøsmuseet

Mjøsmuseet is a museum of cultural history with departments in Gjøvik, Toten and Minnesund. Guided tours are available by appointment. The museums are open during summer. The museum grounds are open year-round. Mjøsmuseet has extensive archive, artefact and photo collections. Genealogy resources are available year-round, but we suggest you make an appointment.

 

Gjøvik gård: Historical farm estate in the centre of Gjøvik. The main building dates back to 1810, and is surrounded by a beautiful park. Various exhibits, cafe and playground. Open-air concerts Saturdays during summer.

Eiktunet, Gjøvik: This open-air museum provides a magnificent view of the city of Gjøvik. The museum contains buildings from the period 1650-1850. The grounds are open year-round. Family events during summer.

The cafe is open every day 11.00-17.00.

Stenberg Open-Air Museum, Bøverbru: In former times the home of the local county governor, this farm estate features an extensive English-style park set in a 19th century cultural landscape.

Mjøssamlingene at Minnesund: Lake Mjøsas maritime museum features exhibits on flood history, timber floating and boating.
